Elena graduated as a Physiotherapy Specialist from the University of Zaragoza in 2004 and earned a degree in Cultural and Social Anthropology from the National University of Distance Education (UNED) in 2008. She completed a master’s degree in Orthopedic Manual Therapy (Kaltenborn-Evjenth concept) and received training in Social Gerontology at the University of Zaragoza. In 2013, she completed her PhD at the University of Zaragoza with a study on neurodynamic tests and neurodynamic sequencing.

Title of her doctoral thesis: “A study on the validity of neurodynamic tests of the median nerve in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome.”

Since 2004, she has worked as a clinical physiotherapist in orthopedic and sports physiotherapy and has served as a faculty member at the University of Zaragoza. She is the principal investigator of the PhysiUZerapy research group and the Director of the Advanced Clinical Neuromuscular Physiotherapy Master’s Program at the University of Zaragoza.

Her special research interest is the understanding of nerve biomechanics and physiology and its implications for the assessment and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal dysfunctions. Her most recent research focuses on structural differentiation and the effects of neurodynamic techniques in cadavers.

Elena Bueno has been a member of the international education group NeurodynamicSolutions since 2009. As an international instructor, she has delivered courses in various countries around the world, including Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium, Greece, Bosnia, Serbia, and Italy.
